For several years I worked with a janitorial service cleaning offices. From that experience I learned many tricks to make your house cleaning chores easier and faster.

Okay, now you are actually ready to start. Begin in one room and put everything in its proper place. Then clean the upper surfaces by dusting the tables and window sills. Clean the tv and computer screen. Clean counter tops and sinks and toilets. Last, clean the floor surfaces. Vacuum and mop.

Voila! Your first room is done. Repeat for the other rooms of the house.

Turn on lively music, turn off the television and just do it. Set your timer and see how much you can accomplish in the alloted time.

Here are some pointers that successful cleaning crews use in their nightly routines. First, be prepared by having everything you need to clean the restroom all ready. Use a cleaning caddy and keep all your supplies handy in one place directly next to you while cleaning. Always make sure your spray bottles are full before starting. Second, stock the paper products such as paper towels and toilet paper before you actually start to clean. Then empty the restroom trash into a large trash bag.

Begin cleaning in an orderly manner at the highest point and work your way down. Use a handful of paper towels and glass cleaner and start with the mirror. The mirror mainly needs to be cleaned in the area just above the faucet where water gets splashed up when someone washes their hands.

Now, what about toilets? Using Ajax or Comet and a scrub brush, start scrubbing in a circular motion beginning with the upper inside area and go around lower into the center of the bowl. For stubborn ring stains, go to your local janitorial supply store and ask for a griddle screen and a pumice stone. These always work great for stubborn hard water stains on porcelain.

Maintain a non-stop fluid motion of cleaning from start to finish. You will soon work faster and maintain quality at the same time. Remember, practice makes perfect.
